Florida massage therapists must renew their licenses by August 31 of every odd-numbered year (2025, 2027, etc.). If this is your first time renewing, or you\u2019re not sure what CE hours you need, this guide is for you.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Licensed After June 1, 2025?<\/h3>\n

If you were licensed within 90 days of the renewal deadline and your license shows an expiration date of August 31, 2027, you\u2019re already set!<\/p>\n

    No CE required<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    No payment due<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    No action needed this cycle<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    First-Time License Renewal<\/h3>\n

    If you were licensed between September 1, 2023 and June 1, 2025, you\u2019re a first-time renewer.<\/p>\n

    You need:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • \n

      1 hour of CE for every month you\u2019ve been licensed<\/strong>, including:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • \n

        2 hours in Preventing Medical Errors<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        1 hour in Human Trafficking<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        For example, if you were licensed for 10 months, you need 10 total CE hours (including Preventing Medical Errors and Human Trafficking).<\/p>\n

        These hours do not need to be live or hands-on<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

        Make sure your CE hours are:<\/p>\n

          From Board-approved providers<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Reported to CE Broker<\/strong> before August 31<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Full Renewal (24-Hour Requirement)<\/h3>\n

          If you were licensed before September 1, 2023, and this isn\u2019t your first renewal, you must complete 24 hours of CE<\/strong>, including:<\/p>\n

            2 hours:<\/strong> Preventing Medical Errors<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            2 hours:<\/strong> Florida Laws & Rules<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            2 hours:<\/strong> Professional Ethics<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            1 hour:<\/strong> Human Trafficking<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            12 hours:<\/strong> Live, hands-on or interactive technique-based education<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            5 hours:<\/strong> General (live or online)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            The 12 live hours must be \u201crelevant to and focused on massage therapy techniques or the practice of massage therapy,\u201d delivered in person or through real-time interactive platforms (not pre-recorded). It is always smart to double-check that the class you take meets this requirement.<\/strong><\/p>\n

              Confirm hours are reported to CE Broker<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              Log in to the MQA Services Portal<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            4. \n

              Pay your renewal fee<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            5. \n

              Keep your CE certificates for your records<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Avoid the Last-Minute Rush<\/h3>\n

              Finish early\u2014by early August if possible\u2014to avoid tech issues, delays, or missed deadlines.<\/p>\n
