NCBTMB Recertification Requirements:
All applicants must:
1) Submit 48 Continuing Education Hours (6 must be in Ethics)
2) Submit 200 Work Experience Hours
3) Pay current Recertifi cation Application fee: $125 (plus any applicable late fees)
1. 48 CONTINUING EDUCATION HOURS
There are two (2) ways to meet the forty-eight hours (48) required for Continuing Education coursework:
a) All forty-eight (48) hours from NCBTMB Approved Providers.
b) Forty-eight (48) hours can be from a combination of NCBTMB Approved Providers,
non-Approved Providers, and accredited schools, colleges, or universities.
Special Note to Certifi cants due to recertify by 12/31/2012 who submit on time:
Courses from non-NCBTMB Providers (formerly called Category B courses) that meet NCBTMB
criteria for continuing education will be honored at a 1:1 ratio until December 31, 2012. Beginning
in 1/1/2013, anyone submitting a recertifi cation application with non-NCBTMB Provider course will
be granted credit at a 2:1 ratio. (2 non-approved hours = 1 approved hour). (See Reference Guide)
2. EXPERIENCE HOURS
200 Work Experience Hours in massage therapy and/or bodywork may come from one category or from a combination of categories as provided in the Reference Guide, Part III: Submitting 200 Work Experience Hours.
3. RECERTIFICATION APPLICATION FEE – $125 (plus any applicable late fees)
